PALENCIA'S CAMP 2017

11 of our students of 1º and 2º ESO spent a week in Palencia from the 17th to the 21st of April. They were in a camp with other students from Valladolid (IES Arca Real). The main goal of this week is to spend five days immersed in English with a variety of workshops, sports and other activities in the company of native speaking teaching staff.

WHAT A FEAT!

In the mid-80's two young English climbers attempted to reach the summit of Siula Grande in Peru; a feat that had previously been attempted but never achieved. With an extra man looking after base camp, Simon and Joe set off to scale the mount in one long push over several days. The peak is reached, however on the descent Joe falls and breaks his leg.  Joe however survives the fall and was lucky to hit a ledge in the crevasse. CLIMATE CHANGE

The 2015 United Nations Climate Change Conference, was held in Paris, France, from 30 November to 12 December 2015. Nearly 200 countries got to a historic agreeement on climate change: humanity has to start transforming  the era of high dependency on fossil fuels into a new era based on renewable energy.

Is there anything I can do about it? Yes, you can reduce your carbon footprint.

Drones are already flying off the shelves this year due to demand from big kids and little kids alike.
Some of these remote-controlled flying machines are great for racing and tricks while others are better suited for aerial photography, but all of them will provide you with hours of fun. Unless, of course, you crash them as soon as you get them out of the packaging.

A TRIP TO LONDON

On 19th April the students of 4º ESO and two accompanying teachers set off  for London. We were going to be there for only five days, so that   involved hitting as many tourist and major London landmarks as possible. And  this is what we saw:
